• Total pancreatectomy involves resection of the entire pancreas, distal stomach, duodenum, spleen, and regional lymph nodes.  More extensive procedures include regional pancreatectomy type I (total pancreatectomy + gallbladder + portal vein +/- transverse colon/mesocolon/omentum) and regional pancreatectomy type II (regional pancreatectomy + mesenteric vessels/celiac axis vessels/vena cava/aorta.
• Follow the guideline & procedure sections for Distal Pancreatectomy and Proximal Pancreatectomy for the appropriate portions of the specimen.
